Important Notice for Grade 10 &11 Parents

The Massachusetts Department of Education has established a graduation requirement for high school students.  Students must pass a state mandated standards test called MCAS.  The test currently requires students to attain a state set level of proficiency in English language arts, math, and science and technology/engineering.  Eventually the test will also include social studies.

Parents of Grade 11 students will receive a report from the Massachusetts Department of Education addressing their child's scores on the MCAS test taken in the spring.  If your child does not meet the level of proficiency acceptable as passing for either both or for one of the tests, there are programs at Upper Cape Tech designed to help.

The teachers at Upper Cape Tech will do everything possible to prepare your child for the next MCAS test.  Several ambitious support programs have been initiated that will take place during the regular school day schedule as well as after school.

It is vital that parents and teachers work together to provide our students with the best possible support. For further information please call the school at 508-759-7711.
