Since your web browser does not support JavaScript, here is a non-JavaScript version of the image slideshow: It started with hours of discussion about a dream field for the Braves... and progressed to Phase 1. (How do you think we start this thing?) Tons of dirt were moved, and more tons of dirt were moved, and the field was leveled. The infield is ready for some green. Sod needs water, so trenches were dug. It seemed like miles of trenches were dug, pumps were put in place and the first test is a success. Laying sod begins with careful soil preparation. Rolls of sod were placed on the field. Seams must be tightly abutted. This is backbreaking work, but the results are Fantastic! Other projects were unfolding simultaneously. The scoreboard poles are prepped. The scoreboard is put in place. Beautiful! Our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors. First a hole was dug. Footings were poured. State-of-the-art Leggo-like forms were put in place. The insulated concrete forms (ICFs)are ready for the concrete to be poured on an unseasonably cold day. Every ballpark needs a concession stand. Upper Cape Tech students help pour the footings. Students also helped install drain pipes and conduit. A high level discussion takes place. Forms are ready for concrete to be poured Masonry students provided the brickwork. Work continues while Brave ing the elements.
