Dance Regulations

In order to ensure that school dances are run efficiently with a minimum of problems, the following policies will be in effect:

  1. All regular school rules are in effect. UCT students may register one guest at the time of purchasing tickets. No tickets will be sold at the door and UCT students are responsible for the behavior of their guest. Appropriate disciplinary action will be used as with any school situation.
  2. Dances will begin at 7:00 pm and end at 10:00 pm. All students must be picked up by 10:30 pm, or they will not be allowed to attend the next dance. Students will not be allowed to enter the dance after 8:00 pm and students will not be allowed to reenter if they leave for any reason.
  3. Students absent from school on the day of the dance or under current school suspensions are not permitted to attend dances.
  4. Regular school dress code, according to page 37 of the Parent-Student Handbook, will be in effect. Students violating this code in the opinion of the administrator on duty will result in ejection from the dance and a phone call to a parent or guardian.
  5. No sexually explicit or "dirty dancing." Dancing must be appropriate. Excessive body contact, beyond hand holding, is not allowed. While dancing, hands must remain on the dance partner's hands, waist, or shoulders only. Inappropriate dancing will result in immediate removal from the dance. There is to be absolutely no "moshing," "head banding," shoving, lifting people off the floor, crowd surfing, or passing people. All people involved in any such dangerous activities will be removed from the dance immediately.
