Grade 9:

College Prep

U.S. History I

Purpose:  To enable students to participate intelligently, justly, and responsibly in civic life and, by the systematic study of history, acquire the skills to continue to learn for themselves. The course will introduce U.S. history and cover events through the Civil War and Reconstruction. The course targets students planning to attend a four-year college and will develop the requisite skills to do well in college level social science courses.

Tech Prep

U.S. History I

Purpose:  The course covers the same content material as the college prep course, but targets students planning to attend two-year colleges or enter an occupational area.

U.S. History II

Purpose:  Continuation of the content in U.S. History I. The course will begin with a review of the Reconstruction Era and continue through contemporary U.S. issues.

Tech Prep

U.S. History II

Purpose:  Content area is the same as U.S. History II but the course is targeted to students planning to attend a two-year college or enter directly into an occupational area.

Business Management I

Purpose:  Part I of a two-part  articulated course with Cape Cod Community College.  Designed as a college level introductory business course, this course targets the student planning to attend a four-year college.

Tech Prep

Small Business I

Purpose:  Part I of a two-part course designed to provide students with an understanding of basic economic and business principles.  This course targets students planning to attend a two-year college or enter the workforce.

Business Management II

Purpose:  The second part of an articulated business course with Cape Cod Community College.  Students receive three college credits with the successful completion of Business Management I and II with a grade of B or higher.  This course targets the student planning to attend a four-year college.

Small Business II

Purpose:  The second part of a business course designed to provide students with a rudimentary understanding of how small businesses operate.  This course targets students planning to attend a two-year college or enter the workforce.
