Looking for assistance from your school counselor? Visit our virtual offices to find links to information and valuable resources. Connect with your counselor via email, request an appointment, access Google Classroom and much more!
While all of the school counselors welcome the opportunity to meet with students, it is our intention to keep class disruptions to a minimum. For that reason, students are asked to make appointments to see their counselor whenever possible, rather than asking to be excused from class time. To make an appointment, students should click their counselors names below.
Parents wishing to make appointments with their child's counselor should contact the counselor over the phone or by e-mail. Should parents need to contact their child in case of an emergency, please contact the school office at x200.
Many Upper Cape Tech graduates choose to continue their education at the post-secondary level. The UCT faculty members work with faculty members at various institutions of higher education to create and maintain formal agreements that award college credit to UCT graduates upon enrollment at the respective college or technical school. Students should discuss opportunities with their technical instructors and their school counselor. Specific questions about the agreements or obtaining the credit after graduation should be directed to Mrs. Alvernaz.
Through a statewide articulation taskforce, multiple agreements have been established across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This collaboration allows for Chapter 74 (vocational/technical) students to enroll at any community college and receive college credits for work completed at the high school level. This supports a seamless transition for students who wish to continue studying in their field at the college level. The following UCT programs have statewide articulation agreements:
Automotive Technology
Carpentry
Culinary Arts
Engineering Technology
Information Technology
Health Technology
Colleges with formal agreements
A number of other institutions maintain their own agreements with Upper Cape Tech. Each institution may set their own requirements for receiving articulated credit, such as a minimum grade in the technical program or a minimum overall high school GPA. Counselors and technical instructors inform students of opportunities and requirements.
School that have individual articulation agreements with Upper Cape Tech include:

UCT welcomes college admissions representatives to visit in the fall to meet with interested juniors and seniors.
At this time, UCT is using SCOIR as a tool for booking admissions visits for colleges AND military branches. If you have questions about college visits, please contact Marie Alvernaz, Director of Guidance. If you have questions about military visits, contact Rachel Kerrigan, School Counselor.
Please note, each school or military branch may have one recruitment visit per school year. We are also happy to publicize open houses and other recruitment events that would be appropriate for our students to attend. Typically, colleges, universities and technical schools will request that applicants submit official high school transcripts along with letters of recommendation and sometimes a secondary school report. These documents must be sent directly from the high school to the post-secondary institution in order to be considered "official." Use the links to the right to request that materials be sent through SCOIR, the document delivery system UCT uses to submit official documents to colleges and technical schools.
If you are not yet 18 years of age, a parent/guardian transcript release must be completed in SCOIR. All parents/guardians have access to a SCOIR account. Contact the student's school counselor for assistance.
Remember to allow up to two weeks for materials to be sent and processed.
SATs must be requested directly from the College Boardand ACTs from ACT.
This process is only for students who are currently enrolled at Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School. Former students and graduates should contact Upper Cape Tech directly to request transcripts.
Upper Cape Tech does not offer a high school summer school program. However, we are happy to provide information about other local schools that do. Students who have summer school requirements in order to be promoted will receive a letter from a school counselor before the end of June. Many high schools are using online platforms to deliver summer school content. If you select an online summer school that is not sponsored by a local high school, you must have the course approved by Mr. Forget, Principal of UCT, to be certain your course will be accepted.
For students looking to take original credit via summer offerings or online courses, please note that summer school or credit recovery classes are not valid for original credit. It is best to consult with your school counselor if you are looking to enhance your curriculum.
As we are sure you are well aware, maintenance repairs have begun on the SagamoreBridge and will continue into the month of May. These repairs will mean only one lane of traffic will be flowing in both directions 24 hours per day. As a result, traffic delays have been troublesome at both the Sagamore and Bourne Bridges at the start of school and at the end of the school day. Please be cognizant that your students may arrive home from school later than usual, and please remind them to plan accordingly if they drive themselves to school. We appreciate your patience and thank you for your attention to this matter.
