The SkillsUSA American Spirit team has counted all of the donations from the recent Military Fundraiser and the final winner is the Auto Collision Shop with 78 donations! Health Tech was a close runner-up with 76 donations and will be receiving a second place prize. All of the items donated will be shipped overseas to our troops. Thank you to all of those that participated. And a special thank you to Faith Ball-Roemer and Ashley Perry for running this campaign. Very nice work Ladies!
- Last night the Lady Rams’ Varsity Basketball team hosted Sacred Heart and lost 26-14. The Rams were led by Clare Wurlitzer with 4 points, Zoe Janicki and Paige Bourgault 3, and Hailey Wilcox and Lacey Butland had 2. The next and last game of the season will be at home on Wednesday against Sturgis East.
- The Lady Rams’ JV Basketball team played against Sacred Heart and won 35-26. Aaliyah Tropeano had 10 points, Calii Smith and Molly Keefe had 7 points each, Arianna Miranda 5 points, Danielle Ansell 4 points, and Zoe Jackson had 2 points. Great all-around team scoring and great team effort!!
- The Boys’ Varsity Basketball team won 50 to 32 over Sacred Heart. Desmond Nascimento and Wally Alden led the way with 16 points each. The boys clinched a playoff birth for the 6th year in a row. Senior night will be at home this Friday at 6:30. Please come out to support the 4 seniors as they take on Tri-County.
- The Boys’ JV Basketball team beat Sacred Heart 59-21. Ryan Tropeano has 8 points, and Kyle Sprague and Jared Nawoichik both had 7 points each.
There will be a meeting on Thursday, February 14th at 2:10 in the Multi-Purpose Room-Gym Side, for all baseball players.
UCT Science Fair
The annual UCT Science Fair has been postponed to Thursday, February 14th. Judging will begin after school. More faculty members are needed to judge all of the approximate 80 student participants electronically on their iPads so that scoring is done in a timely manner. Thank you for your support of our students.
The Interact Club will be selling Candy Grams for Valentine’s Day. Heart-shaped lollipops and Fun Dip will have custom messages from the buyer to the recipient. Candy Gram sales will run through Thursday, February 14th.
Horticulture will be selling flowers for Valentine's Day. Pre-orders will be taken in the cafeteria during lunches on today and Wednesday. Orders can be picked up during your regularly scheduled lunch on Thursday. Once orders have been filled, the remaining flowers will be sold on a cash and carry basis while supplies last. Roses cost $3.00 each and Carnations cost $1.50 each.
Attention Seniors: Friday is the last opportunity to submit your baby picture for the yearbook. Please see Mrs. Bourke and Mr. Callahan with pictures.
Also, any senior that has not yet purchased their Cap & Gown for graduation, please see Mrs. Rogers in the Main Office.
Are you interested in drawing or enhancing your character art? Then sign up for the Drawing Illusions 5-week Art Class sponsored by the Art Club. The class will meet on Tuesdays after school in Room 186 starting on March 12th. Sign up with Mrs. O'Donnell in Room 186. All students are welcome.
Freshmen Class Officers
Any Freshmen student interested in running for class officer should pick up a nomination form from the Dean of Student’s Office. The completed form should also be submitted to the Dean’s Office by Friday, March 15th.
Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors interested in free college courses at Mass Maritime can pick up an application in the Guidance Office. The choices are Current Environmental Problems and Intro to Emergency Management to be held on Mondays from 4-7 p.m. And, an English Composition class on Tuesdays from 4-7 p.m. Classes will begin in March.
Cancellations for Today
Due to an early release, there will be no late buses today. Also, there will be no after school activities. All students will be expected to leave the building at the time of dismissal.
