Interact Club

The Interact Club is a community-service club for youths ages 12-18 who want to connect with others in their community or school. Interact Club members have fun while carrying out service projects and learning about the world.  Interact clubs organize at least two service projects a year:  one that benefits their community and one that encourages international understanding.  While Interact clubs receive guidance from individual Rotary clubs, they govern and support themselves.

At UCT, the Interact Club participates in the Craft Fair, Open House, Canned Food Drives, Toys for Tots, and hosts the Honor Roll celebrations.  Students may also have individual service projects outside of those that are club sponsored.  Come join the fun and support your community as well.

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.
Today, it is estimated that over one million students participate in activities of the NHS and its middle level counterpart, the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). NHS chapters are found in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and many U.S. Territories and Canada. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and providing community service.

At Upper Cape Tech the National Honor Society assists with the craft fair, open house, and various community services projects throughout the year. Students maintain high academic and shop grades while continuing to do community service and encouraging others to work towards becoming members.  We are currently beginning to work with the Bourne Fire department and local food pantries to expand on our pillars of service and character.

SADD

Originally, the mission of the SADD chapter was to help young people say "No" to drinking and driving. Today, the mission has expanded. Students have told us that positive peer pressure, role models and other strategies can help them say "No" to more than drinking and driving. And that is why SADD has become a peer leadership organization dedicated to preventing destructive decisions, particularly underage drinking, other drug use, impaired driving, teen violence and teen depression and suicide.
